Hortilog GmbH was founded in May 2019.
We are a family-run haulage company based in the Ruhr region and operating in the international transport market.
Our service is characterised by many years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics and glass transport. We are available to our customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and deliver goods
punctually, safely and reliably.
We have our own modern fleet of vehicles and operate a logistics centre at our site in Recklinghausen. A large network of partners, which we can always fall back on if our own capacities are
insufficient, makes us particularly flexible.
Freight Forwarding & Transportation
Originally, our fleet of vehicles specialized in transporting flat glass and greenhouse panes.
Over time, we expanded our range of services and grew our business.
All-in: Our all-round carefree package offers our customers everything they need.
Our customers now include manufacturers of gardening supplies, building materials, the beverage industry, and food producers.
In addition to standard trailers, we also have light trailers with a payload capacity of 26 tons, as well as megatrailers.
All vehicles are equipped with a valid Code XL.
Project and Flat Glass Logistics
Our core business includes the transport of flat glass in crates and on racks, as well as project logistics for greenhouse construction. In this area, we offer our customers a specialized service
called “Hortilog Full-Service.”
We coordinate the loading with the shipper, organize the transport, and handle the unloading of the goods at the construction site.
Our fleet is always state of the art.
Our fleet consists mainly of semi-trailer trucks, though we also use trucks with trailers. The vehicles are equipped with A-frames, ensuring that glass crates can be transported safely and properly. Some of the vehicles also feature C-rails and slotted stanchions. Perforated panels, Edscha tarps, and 20 tie-down straps are part of our standard equipment.
The vehicles have a maximum interior height of up to 3 meters and can easily transport glass panels up to 255 cm in height. For unloading, the vehicles are equipped with a loading crane or a
portable forklift.
For very uneven or muddy terrain, we arrange for a telescopic loader to handle unloading. Whether small or large construction projects, we handle projects of all sizes reliably and
flexibly.
Warehousing
At our site in Dorsten, we operate a warehouse with 1,900 square metres of storage space. We mainly store flat glass, but can also store all other goods.
Our storage area at the Dorsten site measures 1,900 m².
Container handling is also possible due to the proximity to the inland harbours.
The warehouse is equipped with crane runways. Loads of up to 5 tonnes can be moved. Sufficient forklift trucks are available for fast loading and unloading of palletised goods.
Short-term or long-term storage is possible with us.
